WOAH I Just Went On A Fashion Forecast Blast From The Past IDK What!

YOU'RE FROM THE 70'S BUT I'M A 90'S BITCH!!!

It'ssssss baaaaacccckkkk! The 90's are officially making their return to fashion and the arts and will this be an interesting turn of events. 90's fashion was sporty, colorful, grungy, and freakin' fun. Closely relatable to the 80's styles, the 90's take on more of an LA point of view and more of an iconic representation of pop culture. Remember these familiar hotties?

Now let's see these looks modernized for todays spring/summer 2013 styles:

Most of these looks have already become viral in the fashion sense. Shops like ForeverXII, H&M, Zara, & department stores have been promoting 90's style attire in the forms of hipster & music festival looks. These more obvious takes on the era's fashion are now beginning to take shape in more subtle ways for those of us wanting to take on a more high fashion approach to these wild styles.

This summer we're going to be seeing this trend take on a sporty style with lots of prints and bright/neon colors.

Now these sporty styles are getting me really excited for a major transition in fashion. For many years and way to repetitively we've been bringing back the 60's, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's and I believe that this 90's trend is going to take us into what will be one of the farthest era's in fashion we've dated back to in a very long time and maybe even in my lifetime... the 1920's! Call me crazy, but the headbands, the hats, the fringe, the a-line cuts, the high collars, the low heels, honestly I could go on and on but The Roaring 20's are slowly breaking through and will be a major theme in many of our wardrobes after the hot, flirty styles of summer expire. With the release of the Gatsby movie and the yearning for fun accessories we are going to see ourselves in a very vogue era for autumn and wintertime. I'm just calling it now, before I'm too late!

So since I've made the leap towards 2 trends in 1 post I must keep the trend comparisons from old versus new going. Let's go back in time to the Flapper era where Cloche Hats, Egyptian prints, Hostess Pants, Rolled Stockings and Hemlines were THE hottest trends.

Almost 100 years later fashion repeats itself:

Hopefully some of you found this to be informative and interesting. Also, I'm really crossing my fingers for some undoubtfully playful styles to be born out of all of this! <3 You!

A Night In Paris: Cassis Edition

This past Thursday I was so fortunate to take part in Cassis American Brasseries 3 Year Anniversary Party. It was a wonderful, honestly magical night. The champagne was flowing, live jazz, beautiful weather, happy faces, and dancing feet! Doesn't get much better than that. My favorite fashion moment for the evening was the pair featured below. I'M IN MAJOR LOVE WITH THIS PHOTO!

BEST DRESSED: 4-12 & 4-13

Ok so the photos are in and this past weekend has made for quite the scavenger hunt for the best dressed because sometimes... some weekends... this just happens:

HOWEVER! With that being said I did find 2 overall winners for the entire weekend and I have some honorable mentions that caught my eye as well.

My winners for braving the crazy crowds this weekend and find themselves to be the best dressed are these two lovely ladies:

I love the color combinations in both these outfits. Yellow is such a hard color to wear if you're not the right kind of tan and you don't want to make it look too summery when you're out at night, but this girl pulled it off making it into a sexy look with it being fitted, short but not too short, and matching it with shoes that were different colors to accomplish a *pop* effect to the outfit.

As for the girl in the Black & White & Royal (my favorite colors right now) she executed a very clean fashionable look with patterns and solids in all the right places. I believe the shirt is backless which is a classy way of being sexy without showing off your goods (which most people find so hard to do). The chunky blue heels are perfect and work so well with her slim figure.

A++ ladies for making these looks look effortless and fabulous!

There are some others that were champions this weekend for following the fashion code of conduct so I can't forget to leave them out! Thank you for setting examples and hopefully inspiring others to step their game up for this next weekend!

Honorable Mentions:

(above) The socialites looking trendy as always.

(above) Some friends of mine out looking stylish and well put together. Jenna (3rd from left) always puts together head-to-toe looks that are so classy and never overdressed. I can't wear pointed heels, but these work so well for her and the outfit. Also, Zach did an awesome job at keeping it simple but still executing a dressed up/night out look. The dark denim and the shoes made the outfit.

THE PLACE TO BE TONIGHT!

In terms of places to see and be seen in downtown St. Petersburg, Cassis American Brasserie is THE top dog in that category. And I don't just say that because I work there. Since it's first year, Cassis has established itself as a restaurant for anyone. It's casual yet very fancy, it's inexpensive yet pricy, it's american yet it's french. Catch my drift? It's anything you want it to be and that opens the doors to every kind of individual wanting to have a good time.

Well, tonight is a very special night for Cassis. It's the restaurants 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY and oh what a fun night it's going to be! All of our faithful customers from day 1 stop by and all those that want a piece of the action (and free champagne) take part as well. There will be a red carpet and flashing lights so for the sake of fashion look fabulous! The social scene in St Pete will be watching!

Let's take a look back in time at YEAR 1 where it all began:

Cassis has become a "place like home" to customers and employee's as well. Many of us have met our best friends here, fell in love, and have been able to call this wonderful city our home because of this establishment. So tonight we all toast to whatever may have brought us happiness and satisfied bellies here at CASSIS AMERICAN BRASSERIE!

BEST DRESSED: 4-6-2013

Being what I would consider a moderate socialite, I enjoy people watching and can really appreciate those that know and understand nightlife fashion and how to not underdress or worse over-do it. And it's not ALL about the outfit either. Oh no. It's about how you're wearing it. And hopefully it's not wearing your vodka cran.

I've decided to get a little more "community based" with my fashion blog and start by incorporating a Best Dressed post every week for those snapped by the discothèque paparazzi. Maybe this will bring attention to the fact that we need to represent our cities in the best way possible and it starts by looking good. Thank you ladies (and gentlemen) who look fashion forward and represent our city of Saint Petersburg with style!

This weeks top picks are from Saturday Night April 6th:

(above) These 2 ladies went for the little black dress and kept it simple. Black is always a safe bet, but in my opinion, out of all the pictures in comparison these girls had it together and looked very well dressed. Great accessories and fabulous hair that seemed to have lasted all night.

(below) The Black, White, and Royal crew! I think all of them as a combo look so put together. Honestly I think the coordination of colors worked so well. My favorite would have to be the sheer blue top and the high waisted white shorts, but the tight nylon black pants are a major risk and she took the risk and rocked it. Thank you ladies!
