Art Basel: Miami

Art Basel is a art exhibition staged in Basel, Miami, and Hong Kong. It's a very cultural event bringing over 300 artists from all over the world and attracts people with an appreciation for modern and contemporary art. Needless to say, the fashion-go-getters come out to play and in Miami you never know what you're going to see. Through some press research I found some of my favorite fashion moments that went down this year.

NYE Natural's

I always believe in less is more and this New Years Eve the best way to be noticed is to be a natural. It's not always about being dressed to the 9's in sequins and sparkle from head to toe, it's about having the right balance between simplicity and decadence. Some lovely ladies of Pinterest have posted some great photo's of NYE inspired looks that are sure to steal the spotlight, yet look so "cool" and effortless.

This one is my absolute favorite!

So chic and fun!

It's winter here in Florida and I've pulled out my leggings and cardigans to bear the cold weather. At this point I always get envious of those that actually get to transition there wardrobe for the winter more drastically. Thanks to WWD, I got some great snap shots of the trendy folks in Manhattan taking on the cold during their holiday shopping. Sooooo jealous...

You all look amazing!

Have We Met?

Ladies... Meet TOBI. Your new best friend, your visa's worst enemy.

TOBI is a up-and-coming trendy internet fashion site where there are pages after pages after pages of clothing and accessories all under $100 and mostly in the $19 - $45 range! It's pretty much a spawn of NastyGal, carrying very similar items while also offering a plethora of inventory at your fingertips. To bring to the table an important topic of discussion, is NastyGal's more "Selective" approach better than TOBI's "We Have It All" outlook? Some food for thought, Sophia Amoruso started out living in her step-aunt's cottage with a side project on ebay, NastyGal, and now last year sold $100 million in revenue. NastyGal has become one of the fastest growing retailers in the country and has an exclusive clothing line all there own. Will TOBI be able to make this same success trying a different approach? From a business standpoint would you put a little less focus on what your selling and focus on mass merchandising? Or will the competition prevail? Compare the two sites below and tell me what you think!
