I've been living in St Petersburg for about 3 years now and have fallen in love with my city. Since moving away from Home in Orlando, I've yet to be comfortable and find solace in a place that I would want to one day call my second home until I found this gem of a city.

The best thing about St Petersburg for me? The People. I've had the opportunity to meet some of the most interesting folks from all over and watch these individuals go through the ups and downs of life right before my eyes. Being in hospitality has aided that exposure and has honestly molded me into a better person.

So why this introduction you might ask? Because I believe that you have to start small to build towards something greater and thus I've decided to work on exposing local people and businesses of beautiful St Petersburg in order to collaborate and grow as we all take on our dreams as just ordinary people.

With that being said let's get on with the introduction of my first Local Celebrity Spotlight with the absolutely adorable and down to earth:

Alexandra Amor!

This week I took my Monday afternoon and sat down with Miss Amor at Cassis American Brasserie for lunch. Walking in at 5 foot 1 and looking effortless in a thin denim quarter sleeve button-up, white skinny jeans and heels, she sat down to answer some questions I had about life and fashion over (what turned out to be) a long lunch. 

RR: "So Alex, it's a random question, but it has to be asked... What DO you DO?"

AA: "In 2010 I was signed to a label to do Pop Music, I completed a radio tour and my song 'Superstar' was broadcast over 1,000 times."

"Also, that year, I was invited to New York Fashion Week where I had the pleasure of meeting people like designer Giuseppe Zanotti, pop singer Chantel and Kim Kardashian's publicist. It was mind blowing and probably my favorite event from my music career."

"As for right now though, I'm focused on modeling and finding a new team to work on my music career. That's my true passion out of all the avenues I have to choose from."

I was envious in the roads that Alex has built for herself and the hard decisions she has to make in order to pick the one best for her life. Many times during the conversation she thought about different career paths from music and modeling to going back to school or becoming a publicist. It's a great thing to see someone with a bright future no matter what avenue they choose. 

RR: "What about Fashion excites you?"

AA: "Everything. Mostly the fact that you can be whoever you want to be in that moment. Like I could be onstage wearing a leather jacket and high tops just rockin' out and then 2 hours later be walking down the street in a sun dress and cute heels eating ice cream."

RR: "What is your favorite color to wear?"

AA: "Turquoise. The influence being that my sister and I grew up on the beach so being by the sea and loving dolphins inspired my love for turquoise. "

RR: "What is your favorite summer accessory?"

AA: (without hesitation) "My new boobs." (She stops. Laughs at herself.) "Can I say that?" 

After laughing at her sheer honesty for a second and her looking up and down at her new prized boobs, we agree that there is nothing wrong with that!

AA: "Besides that, I would say brazilian bikinis."

Alexandra just finished a shoot for Brazilian Beach Bikinis and will make us all want to buy everything they put on her!

RR: "What is the one clothing item you tend to purchase the most?"

AA: "Jumpsuits and rompers are my latest obsession."

RR: "What is your favorite thing to wear?"

AA: "It depends on the day or my mood, but it always has to be sexy."

RR: "What do you wear when you want to feel your sexiest?"

AA: "A low v-neckline dress."

RR: "What would be your fashion 'DO' and 'DON'T' for the summer?"

AA: "DO wear bright colors and be lightweight with your fabrics. Less is more when it's hot. DON'T... ummmm... (she and I had a tough time pinpointing something tacky for summertime)... DON'T find yourself twerking in public? (We laugh in response to a recent video that went viral that found itself in a guys backyard with young girls in full-bottom bikinis doing the latest trend 'twerking' on palm trees.)

RR: "Who is your fashion idol?"

AA: "Rachel Zoe and on the more conservative side Lauren Conrad's line."

RR: "What is your favorite place in the Tampa area to shop?"

AA: "Mad Rags in Pinellas Park. It's a hidden gem and you can find super cute pieces for $20. Also, I love to shop at Bebe because everything there is so fitted and petite."

RR: "Have you ever had a fashion emergency?"

AA: "When I was 16 I was on a boat and I had to safety pin the back strap of my top because it was too short to tie. At some point while the boat was in motion, the pin broke and my top flew off in front of everyone. Super embarrassing and at such a young age!"

RR: "If you could trade places with anyone who would it be?"

AA: "Christina Aguilera. She has an amazing voice and talent that I would someday want to be appreciated for. Her Back To Basics album is what did it for me. The lyrics and sheer power of her voice really made me respect her as an artist. Namely the songs Trouble and The Right Man were my favorite from that album."

RR: "Where do you want to be in 5 years?"

AA: "I would like to see myself nationally published and successful in whichever path I take. I want to be inspiring others, continually growing and getting closer to my empire. And on the side... starting a family."

Once we finished lunch and fed our addiction to coffee we both decided to do dessert Leonard DiCaprio style and go see The Great Gatsby that night, in true Gatsby fashion. We parted ways and went home to our vintage hats, shoes, and gloves to work on something fun and flirty to wear to the theatre. After style deliberations we got back together and had a great time watching a fantastic movie with our feet up!

Alexandra is one of those people you meet that has a contagious personality that you can't help but find yourself in a high-spirited mood while around her. She displays nothing but class and speaks nothing but positivity about life and relationships. She believes that when something is right there's no need to hold back. She is true lady and a surefire talent, showing me that good things do come in small packages!
